Dear (Hospital CEO of Lee Memorial, Naples Community and Physician’s Regional, individual letters):

The City of Bonita Springs and the Estero Council of Community Leaders (ECCL) are committed to implementing a planning process that will result in better access to emergency and inpatient medical care for the residents of south Lee County.

A South Lee County Hospital Committee has been formed, chaired by Sam Levy, consisting of community members many of whom have extensive experience and training in many facets of healthcare; individuals from Bonita Springs City government. The Committee has also initiated an invitation for Florida Gulf Coast University to become involved in its effort.

The goals of the committee are:

·      To develop, in the immediate future, a quality free-standing emergency care facility in our community that will be operational seven days a week, 24 hours a day and,

·       To plan for the building of a full-service, community based inpatient hospital consisting of the required number of beds to serve the populations of Estero, Bonita Springs, Florida Gulf Coast University other areas of south Lee County and northern Collier County.

We are asking the three local providers of hospital care to provide us with a proposal, for consideration by the committee, detailing your interest in helping us reach these goals and outlining the collaborative steps that must be taken by your hospital and the committee to develop, in the short term, the emergency care facility and eventually an inpatient hospital.

We look forward to receiving a written indication of interest from you with a more extensive follow-up verbal presentation as soon as the proposal is completed, hopefully within the next two months.

Sincerely,

Signatures
