Mining

Eastern Estero is home to several fill and aggregate mines. One Corkscrew Road mine application has just been rejected but can immediately reapply; five more are bring held up until September 11th due to the County's one year moratorium and three more are waiting to apply once the moratorium expires. In an effort to preserve the quality of life in Estero, the ECCL participates actively with the Lee County Board, the Florida Legislature and their Advisory Commissions on this issue of high community impact.
