Chaired By:
Tom O’Dea
Meeting called to order. At 5:15 PM
Opening Comments: The Chairman apologized that he was not aware
that the Estero Recreation Center was closed for the Veterans Day
holiday and for having to move the meeting to the Enclave at the
last minute.
The Minutes of the last meeting held in October were approved with
one correction, that Al O’Donnell’s name be inserted as
absent.
The Chairman informed everyone present that he received a phone call
from Nick Batos representing the ECCL and the Concerned Citizens of
the Brooks informing us that representatives of his group had met
earlier with Ned Dewhirst of Oakbrook Properties and Jim Wallace of
Touchstone at Rapallo and had reviewed the design of the Boardwalk,
that it was satisfactory with them and that there would be no need
for them to attend this EDRC meeting.
The Boardwalk at the Enclave presentation was made by Dan Waters of
Wilson Miller, the engineers for the project. A question was raised
regarding installing bollards at the beginning of the Boardwalk to
insure that no vehicles could be driven on the pedestrian walkway.
Mr Waters responded that the sharp corners and narrow 6 foot width
of the boardwalk would make vehicular traffic impossible.
The comments from the public were all positive. Several questions of
a minor nature were made and clarifications were given. The
predominant inquiry voiced by many was how soon it could be built.
Obviously the citizens are most anxious for the Boardwalk to be
built and opened to the Rapallo residents.
There being no further business to come before the committee the
meeting was adjourned.
Next Meeting: Next EDRC Meeting is
scheduled to be held on Wednesday, December, 9, 2009 at the Estero
Park Community Center.
