MINUTES
Minutes
October 14, 2009

Meeting called to order. At 5:05 PM
Opening Comments: The Chairman explained that this session would be more of a
work session involving changes in operating procedures. The only item for review
was a signage proposal for Estero H.S.
Estero H.S. Event Sign
Jack Lienesch explained that he was in receipt of signage drawings submitted by
the sign developer for review and comment and that he was seeking comments from
the EDRC before responding. Committee members commented that the sign was not in
conformance with code requirements and, at Mr. Lienesch’s request marked up a
drawing in red that showed changes that would be needed to provide a sign that
could be considered adequate for an approval recommendation.
Mr. Lienesch was to deliver our marked up drawings to the school authorities for
their information.
Work Session:
The Chairman explained how he had been working with our Estero Web Page designer
to try and develop a system more suitable for the needs of the Committee. He
presented copies of changes that would need to be made to the process already in
place that would minimize the need for writing exhaustive descriptions of EDRC
comments by having the Applicants incorporate the EDRC comments directly on the
drawings. The Applicant would submit these final drawings with the previous
comments incorporated for sign off by the Chairman, who would then forward the
documents to the County Staff together with the EDRC’s DO letter. A second copy
would be retained by the EDRC and forwarded to our webmaster for inclusion with
the EDRC’s project file.
The EDRC Application Documents were reviewed for proposed changes necessary to
accommodate the new method of treating drawings as the official committee review
documents. Several clarifying comments were made for incorporation into the
final documents before updating the Application Documents on the website.
There being no further business to come before the committee the meeting was
adjourned.
Next Meeting: Next EDRC Meeting is scheduled to be
held on Wednesday, November 11, 2009 at the Estero Park Community Center.
